HOW TO TAKE SCREENSHOTS IN CentOS

While taking screenshot using “PrtScrn” button, CentOS gives an error saying “There was an error running “gnome-screenshot”: Failed to execute child process “gnome- screenshot” (No such file or directory).

To resolve this error, we need to install the GNOME Screenshot utility.

The GNOME Screenshot utility is included in the gnome-utils package and is used in the GNOME desktop environment. It provides different options for taking screenshots like, grab the whole desktop, grab the current window, select area to grab and a time delay function.

yum install gnome-utils

ss1

ss2

Now you can open the screenshot utility from Applications>Accessories>Take Screenshot

ss3

You can also use the shortcut to take screenshots by just pressing the “PrtScrn” button on your keyboard.
